Park Seed is a seed, plant, and garden supplies brand, founded in 1868 by George W. Park and best known for their mission to empower every gardener to grow and succeed. Their motto, originally printed in their mail-order catalogs, is “Your success and pleasure are more to Park than your money.”
The company first started as an ad placement in the Rural American by 15-year-old George, selling seeds from his own garden. They later started their own mail-order seed catalog, their circulation growing from 20,000 to 80,000 between 1877 and 1918. They opened their first storefront in 1950, which closed in 2013 as they moved towards becoming a fully online-based garden retailer. Today, Park Seed continues to be committed to George’s original motto, maintaining the highest standards in gardening products and customer service.
