About Moonglow Jewelry

Moonglow Jewelry, founded by Aurelie Dudziak and Julien Plouffe, is a jewelry brand best known for its moon phase concept, developed by Luc Rouleau. Moonglow was originally a product sold by Julien’s father through trade shows and conventions; Julien saw the potential to pursue retail partnerships and turn it into a successful ecommerce brand. Since then, he and co-founder Aurelie have been running Moonglow together for the last 15 years, steadily expanding their team, scaling their business, and growing their online presence.

Moonglow’s personalized jewelry connects “people with their most important memories, events, and Moments with the moon phase of their most important date”. They offer necklaces, bracelets, rings, key rings, and earrings in which customers pick a specific date such as a birthday or anniversary to find their moon, with the option to add a personalized engraving. Moonglow’s team is strongly dedicated to “crafting high-quality designs that are both meaningful and accessible”.

Currently, Moonglow mainly sells online with distributors in Canada, the United States, and Australia, with plans to expand into Japan while continuing to expand their ecommerce footprint. Among other initiatives, customer reviews and loyalty programs play a clear role in Moonglow’s strategy to engage customers, drive growth, and increase retention.

We do actually read the reviews…and now with AI, I basically send a summary of the reviews because for [Aurelie, Moonglow’s creative director & co-founder], she’s designing the products and also making them. So sometimes there’s quality control issues…you’ll see stuff like ‘hey, this broke’. Sometimes it happens with new pieces, we test them as much as we can, but [with reviews] we definitely get insights pretty quick.

What’s Next?

Moonglow plans to continue optimizing their review conversion rate by making adjustments to their review request sequence. They also want to spend more time working on their loyalty program as a “big unlock” for continuing to engage and build community with their customers.
